FAQ’s

  1. I’m a mess in front of the camera and get nervous. How can you help me feel comfortable in front of the camera?

 Rest assured, it’s my job to make you feel comfortable, so we can create content you truly happy with. I have photographed hundreds of subjects before, and I have lots of techniques and tricks to help you feel comfortable, let your light shine, and create some beautiful art together.

 2. What kinds of sessions do you offer? Indoors or outdoors?

I offer both indoor photo shoots, which usually take place in my personal studio space, or outdoor photo shoots which take place in Calgary's vast landscapes. I have both the equipment and skill needed for indoor studio photography, as well as a very big passion and talent for capturing my subjects outside in nature. Using my indoor personal studio is complimentary, so there is no additional charge to rent the studio space. However, if you have a specific studio space in mind, this additional charge is the client’s responsibility. 

3. I don’t know what kind of content I want to create; can you help me create the concepts?

Booking a branding package with Maxine Lagarde photography means you will be guided throughout the entire process to help you create the type of content that will best showcase you, your business and your brand. My branding package includes everything from a brand assessment consultation to use of my personal studio space, to website concepts development and photo integration.  4. Is there a best time of day for outfoor photos/portraits? 

Absolutely. The best time for photos is 1-2 hours before sunset. Which means, in the autumn and winter season, this time will vary between 3:30-5PM. In the spring or summer, this ideal time is much later, from 6:30-8:30PM. Photos taken anytime between 10am-3pm yields the least desirable light because of the harsh light. On a very sunny day, this is challenging, so the later in the day we take most of the photos, the better. For overcast days, this rule is much less ridged.

5. How long will the photoshoot take? How many hours of coverage do you ogfer in your base price?

Your session will include 3 looks of setting, so this usually take around 60 minute. However, your coverage for this session is up to 90 minutes of photography. My goal is to give you lots of high quality photos while still having fun and enjoying the process.

6. I  don’t like posed photos, how does this work?

Let me guide and direct you to make sure you have a combination of posed and natural looking shots. Even photos that appear natural are slightly posed, so relax and. let me guide you.

7. We want to hire you, what’s next?

A 50% deposit and a signed contract is needed to secure your booking. Once you’ve signed and payment is received, you studio space will be booked and the date will be reserved explosively for you.

8. How many photos do I get in your package? Are there additional charges for downloading images?

A session with me includes all edited high resolution digital images, (between 40-60), a print release, and a private viewing gallery where you can share your images with your branding manager and your team.

9. Do you offer closet rentals?

Yes, I also offer styling for my female clients, and I offer 2 styling options. Please download my free guide “My Styling Pacakges” for more information.

10. If I choose to rent from your “Client Closet” how do I make my selection?

Please refer to my Styling Package for all the details!

11. Is your deposit non-refundable, even if I have to reschedule ?

Yes, your deposit is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule within 4 weeks of your session, the deposit is then forfeited, to respect everyone’s time. If you need to reschedule a session shortly after booking your session, the fee will be forfeited, as long as I have space in my schedule for the alternate date. Rescheduling must be within same calendar year. A new retainer will be made if the date change is made within 2 weeks before original agreed upon date.

12. How long will it take to receive my gallery?

Your online gallery will be ready within 6 weeks. You’ll be able to send a link to your team and branding manager so they can access and view or downloading all the images.

13. How do you deliver the photos?

All photographs are shot in digital format and are made available on a private online gallery available for download. Photos will be delivered as high-resolution JPEG files in an online gallery.  

14. Do you offer strictly photo shoots with no concept development, brand assessment consultation, or concept conceptualization?

Yes, I absolutely would love to meet and work with your brand manager to help you reach your photography goals, and create the content for your business. I have much much experience and creating the concepts, and conceptualizing and helping you bring your brand to life through photography, however I am more than happy to book a meeting with you and your brand manager to discuss your vision and help you bring that to life.

15. Why is your branding packaging package more expensive than your other photography packages?

My branding package is more comprehensive than my other photography packages. Please download my branding package information brochure to get all the details on what exactly you will be getting when you hire me as your branding photographer. A branding package requires a one hour initial branding assessment consultation, as well as a one hour final brand briefing meeting to review your shot list, and concept development. In addition to these two one hour meetings, my job is to help you develop your concept for your photo shoots, to generate ideas for you to help build your image.

16.What if I need to reschedule our branding photo shoot? Is there a fee for this reschedule?

A 50% deposit is needed to secure your date, secure my studio space. Once your contract is signed in your 50% deposit is sent through, this date is specifically reserved for you, and the studio space will also be reserved strictly for your photo shoot. Unfortunately, if you need to reschedule within 4 weeks weeks of your scheduled photo shoot date, your 50% deposit deposit would be forfeited. If you need to reschedule your photo shoot date within between the time you have signed your contract and two weeks prior to your session, a $150.00 rescheduling fee will apply. My studio space is rented out most days of the week an on all weekends for my existing clients, and for other photographers who rent out the space for their clients. If you need to reschedule, please let me know at your earliest convenience so we can make alternate arrangements to suit everyone's needs.
