I’m so glad you’re considering maternity photos with me! Maternity photos is what got me interested in photography in the first place. Styling and creating beautiful images of life and the relationship between mother and child before birth is one of my favourite parts of the job. A maternity photoshoot is also one of the last opportunities to treat yourself and get dolled up in from of the camera before the joy and chaos of the bay phase begins. It’s a chance to celebrate your new chapter and freeze time so you can look back on these photos and remember your pwn transition form woman to mother, and it’s sop powerful! It’s never too early to inquire about a maternity session, but like to photograph my pregnant clients around 26-30 weeks. Please send me an inquiry and let’s start a conversation!

FAQ’s

1.      WHEN DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH YOUR MATERNITY CLIENTS?

I like to photograph mama’s to be at no later than 27-32 weeks, so you feel as comfortable as possible during the session. Once we get into the third trimester, the body can retain quite a bit of water. However, this is just a suggestion and I’m happy to photograph you as long as your comfortable and happy.

2- We want to hire you, what’s next?

A $200 deposit and a signed contract is needed to secure your booking. Once you’ve signed and payment is received, I will send you my maternity guide- “What to expect”, so you know exactly how to prepare for your session.

3- How many photos do we get in your package? Are there additional charges for downloading images?

A session with me includes all edited high resolution digital images, (between 40-60), a print release, and a private viewing gallery where you can order from my print shop, and images are delivered straight to your door.  But please note that all the digitals images are included in the price of your session, so there is no pressure to purchase any prints.

4- Do you offer closet rentals?

Yes, I also offer styling for my maternity clients, and I offer 2 styling options. Please download my free guide “My Styling Packages” for all the details.

5- If I choose to rent from your “Client Closet” how do I make my selection?

Please refer to my Styling Package guide for all the details!

6- Is your deposit non-refundable, even if we have to reschedule ?

If you need to reschedule within 2 weeks of your session, the deposit is then forfeited, to respect everyone’s time. I take on limited clients each month, to be able to devote the necessary time and attention to all my clients, deliver quality photos and really fun and creative experience. If you need to reschedule a session shortly after booking, the fee will be forfeited, as long as I have space in my schedule. Rescheduling must be within same calendar year. A new retainer will be made if the date changes within 2 weeks of the original agreed upon date.

7- How long will it take to receive our gallery?

Your online gallery will be ready within 6 weeks. You’ll be able to send all your family and friends’ access and there is no charge for viewing or downloading images.

8- How do you deliver the photos?

All photographs are shot in digital format and are made available on a private online gallery available for download. Photos will be delivered as high-resolution JPEG files in an online gallery.

9- Do you offer adventure maternity sessions?

Oh absolutely, I love Alberta’s vast landscapes and beautiful mountains.  Travelling to photograph you is one of my most favourite parts of the job. This would then mean you’re looking to book an adventure session, which starts at $825, for areas such as Drumheller and Badlands, Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise, Canadian Icefields, and Bowden Sunflower maze. Booking one of these locations for a maternity photoshoot creates really impactful photos, and the landscape and energy never disappoints.

10- What if it rains or snows?

Unpredictable weather is part of the job, unfortunately. I will check in with you 24-48 house before your session to confirm your location and the weather availability.

11- Is there a best time for photos/portraits?

YES! The best time for photos is 1-2 hours before sunset. Which means, photos anytime between 10am-3pm yields the least desirable light. Selecting a time near sunset will guarantee us soft, dreamy photos. On a very sunny day, this is challenging, so the later in the day we take the majority of the photos, the better. For overcast days, this rule is much less ridged.
